he had learned that it was the smallness of people that filled him with wonder and tenderness, and the loneliness of that too. the world was made up of people putting one foot in front of the other; and a life might appear ordinary simply because the person living it had been doing so for a long time. harold could no longer pass a stranger without acknowledging the truth that everyone was the same, and also unique, and that this was the dilemma of being human. he walked so surely it was as if all his life had been waiting to get up from his chair.
-The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry

Oh my. Lovely...quote and photos.

That first picture just takes my breath away. Over here another snowstorm just began, oh well...;-) I like to hibernate anyway. Question, those little signs with inner and outer loop on them, I'm thinking that's some walking trail? But what do the numbers mean? I thought it was distance, but then the /10 just doesn't make sense to me. Explain it to me like I'm a four year old please. ;-)

oh the sweetness you've just shared here...beautiful. It's 9:30AM here and snowing, yet again, blanket of white as far as the eye can see. Winter is digging in her heels this year. Last year we hit 80 mid March and then had a run of days in the 60's and 70's which in Minnesota rarely happens this time of year. And there had been only one, very wimpy snowfall all winter long, Ma Nature is rectifying her error and making sure we don't forget that March can be the snowiest month. Not complaining, I love it but to see green grass, trees, flowers happily playing in the sun is a delightful way to begin the day. If I look real hard I can almost catch of a glimpse of pink shimmering off the fresh snow on the western horizon. Tiz magical.

Yes, it's grey and brown here in Toronto too and we're hunkering down for a chilly weekend (old man winter's last gasp), although hopefully no snow like Susie is getting, so many thanks for sharing these lovely images, Mary Ann. The sight of green grass and spring blossoms warm my heart! Although I do love that shot of the curled up dead leaf as well!

I've always loved your blog. It's my favorite, and while I sometimes skip over other blogs when I don't have a lot of time, I never skip your blog. But since you left your job, I love your blog even more. It's like you've come alive and are completely in your element. Your joy comes through in your images and your words. Thanks for taking us readers on your journey with you! I hope you're able to stay unemployed for a long time. ; )

A beautiful park to meander around. I want to put a rope swing on the tree branch. Don't like the identifying sign screwed into that Redwood though, next time bring your screwdriver and take it out. What were they thinkin!

Ah the digital sun! The digital flower! We're expecting 2-3 inches tonight. But it's good to know that the sun is shining somewhere!

A lovely book - I think I might have slightly changed the ending, but a wonderful read. Your walk looks beautiful!

Such beauty. I must say this high desert has it's own beauty, however I crave some of my old nature haunts which are very different from this. Thanks for the walk, and reading to me (I love that!). xodonna

Methinks that someone has been to Lacy Park! Lucky you. Best wishes from a fan in cold England, who grew up in San Marino. Or did I grow up?

The best part of being an artist is the ever giving gift of the "eye". I "get" what you see and it is truly a treasure of natural miracles.

Are you playing with PS actions again? Those colors in the first image look very familiar to photos you posted long long long ago [in Interweb time]. I've never been able to get them to work with PhotoShop Elements even though I have the current (9?) model.
If so, what is the Action name of that you used for it. That turquoise and petal pink combo is just edibly grabbalbe (eloquent of me, I know)
