We've found our apartment! It's in the Cihangir neighborhood of Istanbul. Cafes and windy streets. Slightly off the beaten track of pounding tourist hooves. A mere tram ride away from the hustle and bustle of Sultanhamet. A roomy balcony for staring off across the water to Asia or the mosques on the old city skyline. 2 bedrooms. And best of all, a spacious dining room table where we might drink our Turkish coffee, or freshly squeezed pomegranate juice, spread out our travel journal supplies, and record the details of our days. Bliss.
A new part of the world to explore. So happy!

ahh these are making me homesick :) have a blast!

You are so clever at finding wonderful places to stay.
I know you'll give us a fascinating insight into the lives of Turkish citizens. It will be almost as good as coming with you!

I love following you through all your adventures. You do exactly what I would love to do when you travel...not pummel thru as many tours as you can, you soak in the culture! Love it! You need to be a travel agent in your next life! karen....

I AM SO EXCITED for you...years and years ago when i was living in england...i read an article about how one could also rent sailboats and sail along the coast of turkey...the person who sailed your boat also would bbq your meals on the deck...i still have fantasies about those fabulous apartments...sailboats...and the smell of grilled lamb!
